The Bligh Government has recently announced plans to privatise railways, ports, roads and forestry reserves in Queensland. The privatisation of State Government assets will be strongly opposed by  Australian Services Union (ASU) members. Privatisation could affect up to 12,000 workers in Queensland Rail, and workers in ports, motorways and forestry.
