How to Join our Union
Sunday, 18 May 2008

In a perfect world you'll never need direct, one-on-one help from us but if you do, you'll generally find we're worth many times this amount whenever we help negotiate enterprise bargaining agreements on your behalf or secure improved conditions in your workplace or industry.

Many of our members also recoup many times their annual fees by taking advantage of the excellent additional membership benefits we offer. So whichever way you look at it, it always pays to belong!

Please note: The Union has a Joining In Dispute Policy which may apply. However, we encourage you to join the union because a united workplace is a strong workplace. You'll also have the assurance of assistance if future issues arise, as well as access to the many extra membership services we offer.

Membership Types

Each of our rate cards has different rates for adults, juniors and trainees. We recognise it's unfair to ask lower-paid members to pay as much as those on higher salaries. So we don't, even though all our members receive the same level of benefits.

We also accept Associate Members. These are people who may never need our industrial services or may be ineligible to join because they're outside our areas of coverage, but who are nonetheless happy to support our work in the wider interests of the Australian community.

Many people of conscience are associate members of our union, and we're encouraged by their moral and financial support for what we do.
